Pneumatic Compression
Pneumatic Compression Recovery Treatment
Pneumatic compression therapy is a powerful recovery tool that uses pressurised air chambers to gently compress targeted areas of the body. This rhythmic compression helps mobilise fluid, stimulate circulation, and accelerate the body’s natural process of flushing out lactic acid, toxins, and metabolic waste. The result? Reduced soreness, inflammation, and recovery time—so you can train harder and bounce back faster.
Recovery Systems & NormaTec Technology
We offer two world-class systems: NormaTec and Recovery Systems, both designed to deliver dynamic compression for the legs, hips, and arms. These systems use inflatable sleeves that pulse in a precise sequence, mimicking the body’s muscle pump to enhance blood flow and lymphatic drainage.
Originally developed for medical rehabilitation, pneumatic compression is now widely embraced by athletes, wellness seekers, and those recovering from injury or surgery. Whether you’re dealing with post-workout fatigue, sitting or standing all day, or simply need a boost in circulation, this treatment provides deep relief and lasting benefits.
Safe, Adjustable, and Comfortable
Compression levels are easily adjusted via the control unit to suit your needs. If at any point you feel uncomfortable, the treatment can be stopped instantly. It’s non-invasive, soothing, and deeply restorative—perfect on its own or paired with other treatments like infrared sauna or floatation therapy for a complete recovery experience.
The Benefits
Pneumatic Recovery systems are designed to externally compress the limbs in a way that mimics normal physiology using a sophisticated pulsing, gradient, and distal release compression pattern for the most effective recovery tool.
This type of compression helps with:
- improved blood flow and accelerated muscle recovery
- reduced swelling and inflammation
- increasing flexibility and range of motion
- removing exercise-related waste including lactic acid.
Pneumatic compression therapy can help treat many conditions including:
- Arthritis
- Tendonitis
- Muscle spasms and soreness
- Shin Splints
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Restless Legs Syndrome
Frequently Asked Questions
Why use Compression Boots?
Dynamic pneumatic compression improves circulation and delivers oxygen-rich blood to your muscles, accelerating recovery. It also helps reduce stiffness, swelling, and inflammation, while improving mobility, muscle performance, and nutrient absorption.
What Treatments are available?
For legs we use ‘pants’, which target feet, calves, knees, and quads. Arm attachments cover wrists, biceps, triceps, and shoulders. Hip attachments focus on glutes, hamstrings, IT bands, and lower back.
What should I wear when using compression treatment?
Tight-fitting, comfortable clothing is best. Avoid loose garments to prevent bunching. Clean socks are recommended for boot sessions. For arm compression, sleeved tops please (no singlet tops).
When is Ideal Time to Use It?
Use pre-workout for 15–20 minutes to boost circulation, post-workout for 30 minutes to enhance recovery, or any time your body feels sore or fatigued.
Can I use them in conjunction with my floats?
Yes! For optimal detox and recovery: start with compression to stimulate the lymphatic system, follow with an infrared sauna, and finish with a float session.
Who should use Pneumatic Compression?
Athletes, gym-goers, travelers, and anyone who stands or sits for long periods can benefit. It’s also great for pain relief and general relaxation.
What conditions can it help treat?
Arthritis, tendonitis, muscle soreness, shin splints, and carpal tunnel syndrome are some of the conditions it may help alleviate.
Who should NOT use Pneumatic Compression?
It’s not suitable for people with acute heart conditions, infections, DVT, recent surgeries or wounds near the treatment area. Consult a professional if you have neuropathy, poor circulation, fragile skin, or a history of organ failure.
